defined intervals.

Functional Specifications
Wireless network enabled. Data from the
unit is transmitted via the Cingular wireless
network. The three modes of operation are:
Synchronous Mode: Data is continuously
transmitted at a user defined rate based on time
or distance.
Exception/Notification Mode: The mobile
device transmits an alert with current time, speed,
position, and other data only if a user defined
limit is exceeded.
Query Mode: The device replies to a data
request only.
Programmability. Parameters within the
unit may be set with the Fleet Manager client
software package connected to the Internet.
Customer Defined Speed Limit. Speed limits
may be dynamically defined at the client interface.
The unit will transmit an alert to predefined
recipients if the maximum speed is exceeded.
Vehicle Electrical System Connectivity. The
unit can be connected to the vehicle electrical
system to enable any two of the following features:
Lock/Unlock doors, trigger horn, Flash parking
lights, and Starter immobilizer.
Geo-Fencing. A Geo-Fence is an invisible
boundary that can be defined as a sphere around
the mobile device. The user can set the Geo-Fence
using the client interface when connected to the
Internet. The mobile device proactively monitors
the vehicle’s position and automatically exercises
customer-defined logic when position readings
exceed pre-set ranges. The Geo-Fence can be set
around the vehicle at its current location by
pressing the optional button.
Driver assistance button. The driver assistance
button is the WebBased GPS’s safety feature. When
the button is depressed it sends an alert message
to the Tracker Server summoning assistance in
an emergence situation. The alert message contains
location and other relevant information needed
to assess the emergency. |
